Survey on e-Powered Micro Personal Mobility Vehicles: Exploring Current Issues towards Future Developments

Nowadays, the diffusion of electric-powered micro Personal Mobility Vehicles (e-PMVs) worldwide—i.e., e-bikes, e-scooters, and self-balancing vehicles—has disrupted urban transport sector. Furthermore, this topic has captured many scholars practitioners’ interest due to multiple issues related their use. Over past five years, there been strong growth in publication e-PMV studies. This paper reviews existing literature by identifying several on impact that e-PMVs produce from different perspectives. More precisely, using PRIMA’s methodological approach well-known scientific repositories (i.e., Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar), 90 studies between 2014 2020 were retrieved analyzed. An overview classification into endogenous (e.g., planning) exogenous safety environment) are provided. While deeply investigated, findings suggest some others need improvements. Therefore, status quo these is being assessed support possible future developments.
